There is a CLASS for everyone in 2008 -- and we invite you to take several!!! Following are the class descriptions and registration costs. Once you have registered, we give or send you the materials list for the class. Classes listed in this section are grouped by category: Clubs and Events, Beginning Quilting Classes, Beyond Beginning Workshops, and Calling ALl Knittters. Just scroll down to the sections that interest you to find complete class descriptions. TO REGISTER: Click on a BLUE colored class date and you will be taken to the registration page. The black colored dates indicate follow-on sessions of classes that started on the corresponding blue colored date. You can also reach the registration page from the menu to the left, or by clicking on a blue class title in the calendar pages. Class Do's and Don'ts - - We must have 3 people register at least a week before the start date to hold a class. - If we cancel the class, you get your money back. If you cancel the class at least one week prior,    we will give you store credit for the amount of your registration. - If you cancel a class after one week prior, or do not attend class, you forfeit the registration fee. - Class fees do not cover the cost of materials unless specifically mentioned. - Books or patterns are required for every class unless the instructor has written her own pattern.    - We happily comply with copyright laws. We are happy to arrange a special class for you. Our a la carte menu is as follows:     - Individual Session: $20.00/hr     - Two People: $15/hr per person     - Three or more: $7.50/hr per person Our aim is to help each one of you when you're stuck on a project, but please make an appointment if you need more than 10 minutes of individual instruction. A time for the UFO of your choice! Remember to register on the 1st of the month for that month's session. Space is limited to 10 participants.     July 18 6pm - Midnight   Class Follow-On Night   Friday Nights, 6:00pm - 10:00pm Instructor: Staff $10 (no dinner, bring a snack if you like) To replace our Quilt-In nights we have an evening of sewing available for anyone who has taken a class at Cotton Fields. We want to help you get your claass projects finished! Instruction will be available these nights. At this event you will receive 10% off purchases and 10% off the next clsas for which you register. What a deal! See you there!     Sep 12 6pm - 10pm   Charity Quilting     2nd Tuesday of the month, 10:00am - 4:00pm (Will not meet in Aug or Oct) No Charge Mary Blecha provides all materials. Bring your machine if you want to sew, or no machine if you would like to tie quilts. These quilts go to local organizations for babies and children.       Sep 9 10am - 4pm   Applique Club               Saturday, 10am - Noon, once a month Will not meet in September. Facilitator: Edna DeFord FREE This talented group loves applique and other handwork and will be happy to share tips. This is a long-term project with lots of sharing and encouragement.     Lady Jane Club Registration     Aug 14, Sep 11 6:00pm - 8:00pm     **** WORKSHOPS FOR THE QUILTING NOVICE **** Beginning Quilting     Saturdays, July 12 & 26 or Mondays, Aug 11 & 25 Instructor: Faith Kalback $45 plus supplies Learn to select fabric, cut safely, get an accurate 1/4" seam, and piece a pretty table runner in the process. Once you have these basic techniques you'll be ready for more complex projects.       Offered twice, two sessions each:     July 12 & 26, Saturdays 10:00am - 1:00pm     Aug 11 & 25, Mondays 6:00pm - 9:00pm     ***** BEYOND BEGINNER WORKSHOPS *****   Seasonal Table Runner     Mondays Instructor: Brenda Moseley $45 plus pattern To introduce you to Judy Niemeyer patterns, we have selected this outstanding table runner that is paper-pieced and can be finished in a timely manner. You will learn the efficient cutting and paperpiecing techniques we gained in a workshop with Judy in Montana. Bring scraps to use and/or share.       July 28, Monday 10:00am - Noon   Professional Tote     Saturdays Instructor: Faith Kalback $60 plus pattern Our most popular bag ever is back again. In just 2 Saturdays you will have the best looking tote you can imagine. Faith has the steps in this project down to a fine science. Use our color way in gorgeous batiks or branch out on your own for this stunning quilt. You're sure to gather compliments on this project.       Aug 20, Wednesday 6:00pm - 9:00pm   Garden Trellis   Thursday, Sep 4 Instructor: Barbara Fraley $22.50 plus pattern Use a big print for great results in this fantastic pattern. Barbara will get you started in class and you may finish at home or at our Follow-On Night.     Sep 4, Thursday 1:00pm - 4:00pm   Machine Quilting   Mondays, Sep 8 & 29 Instructor: Brenda Moseley $30 If you'd like to be able to finish your own quilts on your domestic machine, come learn from an expert. In the 1st session you will practice free-motion quilting and work on a skill builder cloth. Use charm squares or cut your own 5" squares to make the bag everyone loves. This is an easy project suitable even for beginners.       Sep 16, Tuesday 10:00am - 1:00pm   Machine Applique for Christmas   Monday, Sep 29 Instructor: Brenda Moseley $15.00 We have some small projects that are perfect for pillows, table runners, or wall hangings. It's always great to pick up some tips for machine applique from a master.       Sep 29, Monday 10:00am - Noon   Fractured Fat Quarters   Tuesdays, Sep 30 & Oct 7 Instructor: Joan Witt $45 plus pattern This more traditional pattern makes a stunning quilt. This is a good quilt for advanced beginners and beyond.       Two Sessions:     Sep 30 & Oct 7, Tuesdays 10:00am - 1:00pm     **** CALLING ALL KNITTERS ****   Knit Studio         Fridays 1:00pm - 4:00pm No Charge Open knitting time only with yarn from Cotton Fields. Help is available with projects but this social time is not a substitute for taking classes to learn new skills.     Note: There will be no Knit Studio on 25th. The shop will be closed. Knit Studio will only meet once in September - on the 12th     Every Friday 1:00 - 4:00pm   Tuesday Night Knitting Club   Tuesdays, Twice a month Instructor: Joan May $10 per session Join us on Tuesdays twice each month for a fun evening of knitting.
